Erin sailing to success
Erin, Year 10 has been very busy training for the UK girls team sailing squad. She shares with us how her passion for sailing developed and how she is set to chart a course to 2020 national competitions.
"I started sailing at five years old with my family, I found it really fun and exciting. When I was eight I moved on to regional racing, this was a big step for me as it was the first time I starting sailing seriously.
In Year 7 I was selected for the North of England squad, as well as this I entered national competitions. Those two years were very challenging and tough but by the end of it I had improved greatly. Last year I was selected for the squad as one of the top 10 girls in the UK, I was extremely excited about this as it was a huge step up.
So far, I have learnt lots and have had to travel all around the country to compete. I have had to miss out on a lot as when other girls would be at parties I would be at training. Now I am working towards 2020 nationals where people from all over the world will be competing."

Good luck to Erin on GB team selection!
