During the Coronavirus crisis, where we are socially isolated and remote learning, studying and writing poetry has been a lovely way for students to explore their feelings and process the experience.  Year 8 have been spending time in their gardens and going on walks to inspire some Spring poems.  Year 9 have been studying ‘Poetry From Around the World’ this half-term, reading poems by a wide range of poets from different cultures and places.   

These poems have provided inspiration for pupils' own poems on a diverse range of topics from animal encounters to counting their blessings. 

The English Department have been so impressed by the creativity and enthusiasm the girls have shown in their study of poetry.
