British Science Week 2021
British Science Week 2021 provided a fantastic welcome back to the classroom for pupils, week commencing 8 March. From "Smashing Stereotypes" to creating “Innovate the Future” posters, pupils embraced a host of fun activities in celebration of everything STEM.
Highlights, included Year 6, pupils, who joined the fight against Superbugs, they carried out an experiment involving washing their hands and using ultraviolet light, they were able to see how they were not so clean after all. Year 7, pupils, used their artistic skills to colour adjectives that best describe a scientist. Year 8, pupils, planted seedlings and are competing to see whose cress egghead will need a haircut first. Year 9, pupils, produced an outdoor Periodic Table, displayed in all its sunshine glory on the front lawn.
Our aim is to instil our pupils with an enthusiasm for STEM and to inspire enquiring minds.

Pupils engaged brilliantly with the variety of activities throughout the week and can participate in the Baylab Lab Coat Competition, which provides the opportunity to design a science lab coat, illustrating what science means to them and potentially gaining new lab coats for school.
