Imogen's Alzheimer's Society Walk
Well done to Imogen, Year 9, along with her sister Anneliese, Year 11, and their parents who completed a 20 mile memory walk on Saturday 27 March to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Imogen, recently learnt about Dementia whist researching her HPQ project on the topic "To what extent does music help Dementia sufferers?" Imogen took the time to tell us about their memory walk.
My parents, Anneliese and I set out from our house quite early on Sunday morning and walked to Highclere, using the footpaths and through the grounds of Highclere Castle, along the Brenda Parker Way. By the afternoon we had walked back in a loop and continued on the Brenda Parker Way towards Kingsclere. The weather was pretty good and we only had a few spots of rain around the 18 mile mark. It got harder towards the end, but I am really proud that we managed to finish 20.14 miles for such a worthy cause. To date we have raised over £1,000 as people have been so supportive and generous.
