Local Firefighters Inspire Year 5 with Fire Safety Education
Excitement and learning collided at St. Gabriel's as local firefighters paid a visit to educate our Year 5 students on fire safety. The visit was not just informative but also a thrilling experience as students got up close and personal with the tools and equipment used by our brave firefighters.
The firefighters demonstrated the various elements of a fire engine, explaining how each component plays a crucial role in responding to emergencies. From the powerful water hoses to the intricate control panel, students gained a newfound appreciation for the complexity of firefighting operations.
But the highlight of the visit was when students had the opportunity to try on the fire protection gear worn by firefighters. Decked out in helmets, jackets, and gloves, they experienced firsthand the weight and importance of these protective garments in ensuring their safety during emergencies.
Through engaging demonstrations and interactive activities, the firefighters imparted valuable lessons on fire safety, teaching students how to prevent fires and what to do in case of emergencies. The visit not only educated students but also instilled a sense of confidence and preparedness in handling potential fire incidents.
