A Festive Celebration: Junior School Carol Service
On Monday 9 December, the Junior School gathered for their much-loved annual Carol Service, a truly magical evening that brought together pupils, parents, and staff to celebrate the festive season.
Held in the school hall for pupils and parents from Years 3 to 6, the event began in stunning fashion with a candlelit procession of the children singing Diamond Bright by Lin Marsh.
The program featured a wonderful array of classic carols, including While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night and Away in a Manger, sung by the children and enthusiastically joined by the audience. The Junior Orchestra added a special dimension to the service with musical accompaniment and standalone performances, showcasing the enthusiasm of our young musicians!
Pupils delivered readings throughout the evening, adding depth and meaning to the occasion. The Reverend Joy Mawdesley from St Nicholas Church in Newbury presided over the service, offering prayers and a heartfelt blessing to all.
The festive atmosphere extended beyond the service itself, with parents being welcomed to Gabbies, our on-site café, beforehand for refreshments and a chance to chat.
Overall, the Junior School Carol Service was a special evening that captured the spirit of the season, reminding us all of the joy and community that Christmas brings.
