Y8 Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
Year 8 went to the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford to see real life examples of patterns and cultural artefacts as research to support their Autumn term project. They explored the three floors which are crammed with a huge selection of items from musical instruments to masks, tattooing and body art to wooden/stone sculptures and pottery.
On our trip to the Pitt Rivers, we thoroughly enjoyed seeing, photographing and drawing cultural artefacts from different countries. I especially liked the shrunken heads and the African pottery. Later in the day we explored The Natural History Museum where I enjoyed looking at the different types of rocks and crystals. Overall the whole day was very educational and fun. I think we would all happily go back there again.
