Equestrian Team Tackles Storm Bert and excels in Inter-Schools Competition
Despite the blustery conditions brought by Storm Bert, the St Gabriel’s Equestrian Team showed true grit and determination at the NSEA Inter-Schools Show Jumping Competition on Saturday, 23 November.
Hosted at the Berkshire College of Agriculture, the event put riders and their horses to the test in challenging weather.
In the 70cm class, Mollie G (Y8), riding Tilly, delivered an excellent performance, securing 7th place. Kitty B (Y11), riding IE Puddle Duck, also impressed with a clear round.
The 80cm class saw a fantastic team effort from Kitty B, Sophia L (Y11; riding Production), Bea P (Y9; on Tasty Tony), and Dilys P (Y8; on Cregg Surprise), earning them a well-deserved 6th place finish.
The competition continued in the 90cm class, where Bea and Sophia represented St Gabriel’s individually, showcasing their skill and determination in a fiercely competitive field.
The team is already looking forward to their next event on 12 January, ready to take on new challenges and build on their successes.
