Junior School Embarks on Literary Adventure for World Book Day
The halls of the Junior School were abuzz with excitement and creativity as students celebrated World Book Day. Embracing the magic of literature, pupils transformed into beloved book characters, bringing their favourite stories to life in a colourful parade of costumes during assembly.
From the wizarding world of Harry Potter to the enchanting tale of Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Wolves, the school's corridors were filled with a delightful array of characters, each lovingly recreated by eager young readers. Among the crowd, familiar faces like Woody from Toy Story and the Hungry Caterpillar added to the celebratory atmosphere, captivating the imagination of all who saw them.
World Book Day, a global celebration of books and reading, holds special significance at St. Gabriel's. Founded in 1997 in the UK and Ireland, the day aims to inspire young minds to discover the joy of reading and ensure that every child has access to the magic of storytelling.
As part of the festivities, £1 book tokens were distributed to pupils, offering them the opportunity to embark on their own literary adventures by redeeming them for specially selected books.
