On Tuesday 11 March, St Gabriel’s was proud to take part in Ignite the Stage — a vibrant and inspiring charity performing arts event held at the Arlington Arts Centre.
Organised by the Nicola Moran Academy of Drama, the evening was a captivating celebration of local talent, creativity, and community spirit, all while raising valuable funds for the Mary Hare Foundation.
Ignite the Stage brought together schools and performing arts groups from across West Berkshire, showcasing an impressive range of musical, theatre, and dance performances. Alongside St Gabriel's, other participants included Kennet, St Bart's, The Downs, Mary Hare, St Finian's Primary, Cold Ash St Mark's, Allenova School of Dancing, Maia Henrickx Vocal Studios, Elibah School of Dance, and the Nicola Moran Academy of Drama.
St Gabriel’s was brilliantly represented by Helena, Isabella, Eden, and Danielle from Year 8, who all gave outstanding performances. Helena, Isabella, and Eden wowed the audience with their harmonious trio performance of I Know It's Today from Shrek the Musical, showcasing their impressive vocal talent and stage presence. Danielle captivated the audience with a heartfelt and powerful monologue from Birds by Don Zolidis, demonstrating remarkable poise and dramatic skill. Their hard work and dedication truly shone through, and they did St Gabriel’s proud.
The evening was a true testament to the depth of local talent, with each performance reflecting the hard work, passion, and creativity of the performers. The audience was treated to a dazzling variety of acts, from powerful vocal performances to beautifully choreographed dance routines and captivating drama pieces.
Last year’s event raised an impressive £2,000 for the Mary Hare Foundation, which supports children and young people with hearing impairments. This year’s event looks set to build on that success, with the enthusiastic support of the performers and audience alike.
Congratulations to all our St Gabriel’s performers for their outstanding contributions.
