Poetry by Josie
Josie, Year 8 enjoys writing poetry, anywhere and everywhere, often late at night, she will have a burst of inspiration and keeps a notebook by her bed.
Sometimes my inspiration is simply just an idea that popped into my head, although other times it is things like the weather or dreams. A poet that inspires me is Benjamin Zephaniah. I like his work because he uses humour to get a point across, for example in his "Talking Turkeys" poem he gets across the point that humans consume too much without thinking about the effect it has on the environment, his poem is also absolutely hilarious and draws people in instantly because of the language style he uses.
