Sandleford Priory

Most of the photographs in this album are believed to date from before St Gabriel's moved to Sandleford Priory in 1948. They are from the archives or they are in the public domain and available for re-use under Creative Commons License.

In 1941 Sandleford Priory was used by the Joint War Organisation (of the British Red Cross and Order of St John) to provide convalescent care and rehabilitation for injured servicemen. Further photographs from this period would be welcomed. The nurse caring for a serviceman is by a War Office official photographer and part of the Imperial War Museum Collection.
