Y7 River Study at Rushall Farm
Lead by an expert guide from Rushall Farm, year 7 pulled on waders and learned the art of river dipping using kick nets in the River Pang. The pupils also carried out their own river study, this included measuring the width of the river, a depth profile & measuring flow rate by floating an orange over a set distance. All key skills for geography. Pond dipping allowed pupils to make comparisons between the fauna of the pond and river. Dissecting owl pellets was an intriguing way to end their cross-curricular study day.
