Young Voices visit O2
On 6 February pupils in Years 4 - 6 travelled to the iconic O2 Arena in East London for this year’s performance at the Young Voices concert. After an afternoon of rehearsals to an empty arena, children were very excited when families and friends started to take their seats at 6.00pm and much waving to and fro ensued!
The concert itself featured the voices of over 8,000 children (and their teachers) alongside Eighties’ legend Tony Hadley, The Shires, Urban Strides dance group and several other artists.
Highlights of the show included a rocking Queen medley, songs from the Wild West musicals and the noisiest version of Ghostbusters you could ever hear.
Some very weary children returned to school at just after 11.30pm! Thanks to all the families and friends who were able to attend the concert itself.
It was a long day for all involved, but worth every second.
To participate in the world’s largest school choir at such a famous arena, is fantastic for our pupils. It really was a brilliant show, an experience they will never forget.
