Earns Certificate in Children's Mental Health
We are proud to celebrate the recent achievement of Katie Noonan, our Nursery Manager, who has completed her Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.
This in-depth qualification, which involved five months of online study and assignments, has provided Katie with valuable insights and enhanced her knowledge in supporting the mental health of young children in our community.
The course covered a range of important topics, including the principles of mental health concerns in children and young people, relevant legislation and best practices, as well as causes, diagnosis, and management of mental health issues in young children. One key focus area was understanding how to build resilience and minimise the risk of mental health concerns, equipping Katie with further strategies to support the wellbeing of our Nursery pupils.
Reflecting on her experience, Katie shared, "Completing this course gave me the opportunity to reflect on my current practices and see how much support I already have in place for both children and staff. As a result, I am committed to supporting staff in building resilience in our children from an early age. I believe that adults play a vital role in developing this resilience, which can have a lasting positive impact throughout a child’s life."
We are thrilled to have Katie bring this expanded expertise to St Gabriel’s Nursery, enhancing our commitment to fostering an environment of safety, support, and resilience for every child.
