This important qualification enables Lisa to provide even more focused support to ensure children with special educational needs and disabilities at St Gabriel’s Nursery reach their full potential.

Lisa’s commitment to early years care is evident in her numerous roles: she serves as a Duty Manager, a named SENCO for the Nursery, a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), and a fire warden. With over 20 years’ experience in childcare and an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Lisa brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to her work. Since joining St Gabriel’s in July 2020, she has made a lasting impact on both children and staff.

Completing the Level 3 Award was no small task, as the year-long course was condensed into just four months. Lisa participated in regular webinars, coursework, and online assessments, diving deep into best practices for supporting children with additional needs. Reflecting on her accomplishment, Lisa shared, “I’m really happy to have undertaken this Award. SEN has always been my passion. I was quite nervous about the coursework, but I soon realised I already knew a lot through my experience, which gave me the confidence to really get to grips with the material and enjoy the studies.”
