Celebrating Kindness Day UK

On Wednesday 13 November, St Gabriel's Juniors marked Kindness Day UK, joining people, schools, and organisations across the country in a celebration of kindness.

Established to coincide with World Kindness Day, 13 November, Kindness Day UK is dedicated to making kindness a bigger part of our day-to-day lives. This special day encourages everyone to take a "pause for kindness"—whether it’s a thoughtful gesture to a friend, a kind word, or an act of compassion towards the environment.

Here at St Gabriel’s, our Junior pupils embraced this spirit in a truly heart-warming way. One of today’s highlights was a surprise initiative led by the “Kindness Crew”— their identity is top secret! They worked undercover to create thoughtful messages for every Junior School pupil, from Reception to Year 6. Teachers handed these out in class this morning, with each student receiving a personal card featuring a detachable bee, symbolising the importance of “being kind.”

In addition to these cards, Junior pupils wore stickers as a reminder of today’s mission of kindness. In assembly, pupils reflected on how simple acts of kindness can make a big difference, and how small gestures could help strengthen friendships and brighten someone’s day.

At St Gabriel’s, we were proud to be part of this global day dedicated to kindness. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the power of compassion and support. Here’s to continuing the spirit of Kindness Day throughout the year!
