Elodie Qualifies for National Modern Biathlon & Triumphs in Triathlon Series

We’re delighted to share Year 6 pupil, Elodie’s incredible achievements in both Modern Biathlon and triathlon competitions, where she’s represented St Gabriel’s with outstanding performances.

On Sunday, Elodie competed in a qualification race at Leweston School, Sherborne, for the upcoming National Schools Modern Biathlon Championships, set to take place next March. This competition involves separate run and swim events, with scores converted to points. Achieving a score of 2000 typically secures a place at the national competition, but Elodie’s performance surpassed this benchmark. She achieved personal bests in both events, completing the 50m swim in 38.69 seconds and the 800m run in 2 minutes 50 seconds, resulting in an impressive score of 2183 points! This virtually guarantees her a spot in next year’s competition, with ample time to further improve her times.

Elodie’s athletic success doesn’t stop there. Recently, she was also awarded second place in the South Central Regional Junior Super Series for triathlon, a prestigious nine-race series organised by the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) covering a vast area of four counties—Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Hampshire. Competing in the TS1 age group (9–10 years), Elodie’s silver-medal finish required consistency and resilience. She podiumed in each of her five qualifying races, with no room for an off day amongst the region’s top triathletes. Her well-earned trophy was presented by the BTF’s CEO, Ruth Daniels.

Elodie’s achievements are a testament to her hard work, determination, and competitive spirit. Congratulations, Elodie—we look forward to cheering you on at the National Schools Modern Biathlon Championships next year!
