Liam's Impressive Achievements at the Biathle Championships and Hart Sprint Gala
We are thrilled to share the remarkable accomplishments of one of our pupils, Liam, who has been making waves in both biathle and swimming competitions this month.
Liam competed in the National Schools Biathle Championships at Leweston, showing significant improvement since his participation in the U13 GBR Team trials, where he finished 13th. The Year 7 schools event featured some U15 competitors, adding to the challenge. Liam started strong, faced a slight dip during the first run, but quickly regained his pace before transition. He delivered an excellent swim, complemented by two smooth transitions, and concluded with a solid final run, securing 10th place overall. This performance showcases Liam's dedication and resilience as he continues to enhance his athletic abilities.
In addition to his biathle success, Liam also shone at the Hart Sprint Gala. He competed in six swim races, achieving impressive results. He began with the 100 Medley, cutting nearly three seconds off his personal best. He then tackled the 100 Butterfly, where he recently smashed his personal best and did it again, taking off another five seconds and moving into the top 10 in Hampshire. Liam's outstanding performance earned him a silver medal in this event, finishing nearly ten seconds ahead of the bronze medalist.
Liam continued his streak with the 50 Backstroke and 100 Freestyle, coming close to his personal bests. In the 50 Butterfly, he almost matched his new personal best, securing another silver medal. He concluded the gala with a personal best in the 100 Backstroke, finishing 4th and just missing a medal.
Liam's achievements in both the biathle and swimming events are a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and talent. We are incredibly proud of his progress and look forward to seeing his future successes. Well done, Liam!
