Year 1 Pupil Honoured for Naming Competition
We’re delighted to share that Robyn, a Year 1 pupil at St Gabriel’s, has been celebrated as one of the winners of the Ewhurst Park beaver naming competition.
Robyn, just 5 years old, came up with the name "Barry" for one of the first baby beavers (known as kits) born in Hampshire since the 1600s. She explained her inspiration, saying Barry is one of her favourite characters in a game she enjoys playing.
To commemorate her winning entry, Robyn received a special plaque from Ewhurst Park, presented by Head of St Gabriel's Juniors, Mr Dove.
Robyn’s creative contribution will now forever be a part of Hampshire’s natural history, as the adorable kit grows up in the carefully maintained enclosure at Ewhurst Park.
Congratulations to Robyn on her achievement and her wonderful choice of name!
