Year 9 Classics Pupils Explore History at the Roman Baths
On Wednesday 4 December, Year 9 Classics pupils embarked on an exciting trip to the historic city of Bath, immersing themselves in the rich legacy of the Romans as part of their studies.
The day began with a visit to the world-famous Roman Baths and Museum, where pupils explored the ancient site and its fascinating history. Split into two groups, one session focused on Latin epigraphy, offering insights into ancient inscriptions and their significance, while the other provided hands-on learning with artefact handling—a unique opportunity to connect directly with the past.
Following the workshops, pupils enjoyed an audio-guided tour of the museum, delving deeper into the history and marvelling at the remarkable preservation of Roman engineering and culture.
To cap off the day, the group embraced the festive season with a wander through the charming Bath Christmas Market during lunch. The sights and sounds of the market added a festive touch to a day filled with historical discoveries.
The trip was an enriching experience, bringing history to life and providing a memorable connection to their Classics studies.
