Trip to the Roman Baths
In the last week of February, Year 9 took a trip to the Roman baths at Bath, accompanied by Year 10 classicists.
The students were lucky enough to visit the brand-new ‘Heritage’ education centre, opened late last year, where the staff led them in activities such as decoding Latin epigraphy, artefact identification, and a look at how the baths were used 2000 years ago. Students also had the opportunity to tour the baths themselves, getting up close to the hot spring, the temple ruins, and the iconic central bath. Both staff and students learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to see the Roman world preserved so accurately in the present day.
