Art on display!
Tiles created by Year 6 (now Year 7) on their taster day last year are now on display around the swimming pool!
Each tile was designed around the Hamsa hand, which is a symbol of positivity. To make each tile unique, students added marks and images reflecting their interests and personality. Once fired in the kiln, tiles were brushed in different colour oxides, then glaze and fired one more time to withstand the outdoor elements.
These tiles are the first instalment of the Art department's sculpture garden project which will see 3D artworks appear across the school grounds. They are beautiful!
