Geography Trip to Swanage
Back in September, our Year 11 geographers travelled down to Swanage Bay to conduct their physical geography fieldwork in preparation for the summer exams.
Down on the beach, the pupils identified and evaluated the different types of coastal management protecting the town from erosion and flooding. They then measured beach profiles and sand accumulation to see how effective the groynes are at reducing longshore drift in the bay. Rewarding themselves for all their hard work, they rounded off the trip with a large ice cream before heading back to school!
