A Morning of Laughter and Laps: Senior Christmas Fun Runs
On Thursday 12 December, the Senior School got into the Christmas spirit with a morning of fun during the annual Senior Christmas Fun Runs.
The event kicked off with Years 7 and 8 hitting the specially laid trail around the school grounds. The route wound its way through open fields, around the picturesque lake, and into the woods before finishing on the lawns behind the main school building. However, the course wasn’t without its challenges. A particularly boggy patch caught a few unsuspecting students by surprise, leading to some muddy mishaps—and even a few lost shoes!
Next up were Years 9 and 10, who gamely took on the same course, followed by Year 11 and Sixth Form students. The Sixth Form went all out with their Christmas outfits, with inflatable Santa suits, reindeer costumes, and even a penguin joining the fun. Even Mrs. Brazendale got in on the action, outdoing herself with a memorable lobster costume!
Whether sprinting competitively, strolling arm in arm with friends, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, everyone embraced the spirit of the event. After crossing the finish line, students gathered in the Sports Hall for a well-deserved treat of hot chocolate, cookies, and Christmas music to warm up and keep the fun going.
With laughter, muddy shoes, and a whole lot of Christmas cheer, the Senior Christmas Fun Runs were a fantastic way to start the day’s festivities—more on those to come...
