Senior House Performances Showcase Talent and Team Spirit
On Thursday 12 December, the Senior School came together for one of the most highly anticipated events of the year—the annual House Performances.
This spectacular competition saw Aidan, Alban, Bede, and Chad take to the stage in the Sports Hall for an afternoon filled with creativity, energy, and teamwork.
The event is entirely pupil-led and organised, with no staff involvement in the creation or execution of the performances. After weeks of dedicated rehearsals, each house presented an original production in front of their peers and a panel of four staff judges. Led by Sixth Formers, the houses wrote and performed short pieces that combined choreographed musical numbers with live singing, acting, and imaginative scripts. Crucially, the performances involved every member of the house, from Year 7 to Sixth Form, showcasing the collaborative effort that defines this event.
The themes were as varied as they were entertaining. From epic space explorations and astronaut-alien showdowns to a hilarious take on a world-famous rock band called "Two Direction," an ode to The Olympics, and the escapades of tropical island adventurers, the creativity and enthusiasm of each house shone through.
The atmosphere in the Sports Hall was electric, with cheers and applause reaching deafening levels as students supported their houses with passion and pride.
In the end, it was * victorious after a tightly fought contest. Their impressive performance earned them the coveted title, and they celebrated with a triumphant encore of their final song—bringing the competition to a rousing conclusion.
The House Performances once again highlighted the St Gabriel’s spirit at its finest, with passion, flair, and camaraderie on full display. Congratulations to all the houses for their incredible efforts and to Chad for their win!
