Chinese New Year Celebrations
Pupils enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year in February, the Junior School learnt about how the festival is celebrated all around the world, with traditions, holidays, fireworks and parties.
Year 7 pupils in the Senior School joined in a cultural enrichment lesson where they created calligraphy, festival fact sheets and had fun performing a lucky Chinese dragon dance.
Other activities included pupils making delicious dumplings in Food Technology and the whole school were treated to a delicious Chinese school lunch to celebrate the occasion. We are looking forward to hosting pupils from Cheam School and Ashford Hill Junior School for Chinese New Year events in March to include some Chinese calligraphy and traditional Chinese tàijíquán (Tai Chi).
