Last Friday, 8 November, St Gabriel’s hosted its highly anticipated annual Bonfire and Fireworks Night, welcoming around 700 attendees from our school community for an evening of Autumnal fun. The event, organised by our dedicated PTA, began at 6:30 pm with a warm selection of seasonal treats for ticket holders, including burgers, hot dogs, and homemade soup.

Gathered around the towering bonfire, families watched as our Guy Fawkes effigies—handcrafted by our Junior pupils—were burned atop the meticulously built bonfire (thanks to the hard work of our maintenance team). The evening’s highlight was a spectacular fireworks display, expertly choreographed by SelStar Fireworks, lighting up the night sky and creating lasting memories for all.

Adding to the event, our Sixth Form students showcased their entrepreneurial skills by running their own stalls, selling glow sticks and other items as part of their business diploma. This hands-on experience allowed them to engage with the community while applying practical business skills.

The PTA expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved: "Thanks to the incredible support of the St Gabriel's community, our recent Fireworks event was a resounding success! We would like to express our gratitude to the school for their support and partnership and to the incredible parent volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make this event possible. The fireworks event has become an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to. We are extremely proud to be a part of such a strong community and to facilitate events that not only raise money for the school, but also create lasting memories for our children, strengthening their bonds through joy and celebration!"

This year’s event raised nearly £2,000, which will be used to fund additional resources and activities to enrich the St Gabriel’s community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this night such a success!
