GCSE Results 2024
Having celebrated the considerable successes of Year 13’s A level results last week, we are equally proud of all that Year 11 have achieved.
Results this year have been aimed at getting back to where they were in 2019, and so we were delighted with the outstanding success of our Year 13s and their A levels. Year 11 had been the year group that had never completed their Year 7, and had a very disrupted Year 8, and so we are hugely impressed by what they have achieved in their GCSEs. Their results show their reliance and hard work that has made sure that their early years early years in secondary school has not impacted on their will to succeed, not define them. That is why the first thing that we should all be doing today is celebrating the considerable successes of Year 11 pupils across the country.
So today at St Gabriel’s we are delighted again to celebrate outstanding group and individual achievement at GCSE. 46% of all grades being at Level 7-9, with Music securing 100% Levels 7-9. The Science results were also most impressive, with over 83% of all grades in separate sciences being at Level 7-9. Individual mention goes to twins Mia and Neve, and Vaibhavi and Shivani, who between them secured 38 GCSEs, 82% of which were at Levels 7-9, as well as other qualifications including Higher Project Qualifications and Level 2 Further Mathematics. Ellie B also did exceptionally well with 5 level 9, 3 level 8 and 2 level 7 in her results.
These results have come about through a great deal of hard work from all the pupils. Collectively and individually, they will live long in the memory as a year group they have been engaging, resilient and with a real sense of fun as they have navigated their GCSE years. However, it is the educational growth and level of achievement shown by these St Gabriel’s pupils, and the professionalism and care shown by an outstanding staff, coupled with the support of parents that will be the abiding memory.
