Creative Hampers for West Berkshire Foodbank
In a wonderful display of festive spirit and generosity, Senior School tutor groups came together on Monday 9 December, to create beautifully decorated hampers for the West Berkshire Foodbank.
This initiative, held during PSHE time, encouraged students to donate essential items and Christmas treats, transforming them into imaginative hampers brimming with holiday cheer.
The Foodbank, which provides vital support to families in need, has recently reported low stock levels, making these donations all the more significant. Pupils and their families stepped up admirably, donating a variety of much-needed items such as UHT milk, cleaning sprays, toilet roll, and Christmas treats like tins of biscuits and festive cakes.
Amongst the imaginative designs were a festive wooden dolls’ house complete with a garden area, several Santa sleighs pulled by reindeer, and even a multi-carriage train, all packed with essential items and seasonal goodies.
These hampers were not just a testament to the pupils’ generosity and creativity, but also a timely contribution, helping families in need over the festive season. The West Berkshire Foodbank expressed their gratitude for the incredible efforts and generosity of the St Gabriel’s community.
Thank you to all the students, parents, and staff who contributed to this meaningful initiative. This was a fantastic example of coming together as a school community to make a difference.
